AIMS AND SCOPE

Journal of Economics and Development (JED) promotes and encourages scholarly research that aims to improve sustainability in economics and development with a particular focus on developing countries, including the transition economies.

JED welcomes both theoretical and empirical papers in the fields of economics, business and economic development that are of wider significance to sustainable development. Specifically, the journal explores the dynamic between society, development, and the environment, and their implications for sustainable development. It delves into the economic, social, and institutional aspects of sustainability, as well as the practical implementation of sustainable practices at local, regional, and global levels. Furthermore, JED encourages research investigating the development and application of sustainability indicators, the monitoring of policies for sustainable development, and the sustainable utilisation of finance, energy, and natural resources in development endeavours.

JED invites applied and comparative studies in various sustainable dimensions at the macro, meso, or micro levels. In terms of readership, JED appeals to both academic and practitioner audiences and papers contribute to contemporary issues in academia, business and public policy.

JED covers but not limited to: Sustainable development; Foreign direct investment (FDI); Inclusive growth; Fiscal policy, monetary policy and macroeconomic stability; Governance and institution; Political economy; Environment, social and governance (ESG) analysis and green economy; Agricultural and rural development; Energy, environment and resources; Income distribution and poverty; Sustainable business; Financial inclusion; Climate change policy and economic sustainability.

Journal of Economics and Development is published by Emerald Publishing on behalf of National Economics University, who owns the title. The journal is published under a Platinum Open Access arrangement, in that all charges for publishing an Open Access article in the journal are funded by National Economics University. Therefore, there is no charge to the author.
